It's always been my favorite day! The kids are excited and jump out of bed and we get there early. That doesn't happen any other day of the school year! This morning , Sam wanted me to tie his shoes. He's gonna be in the 6th grade. I made him tie them himself. He's not good at it. He said, "well, I haven't tied them in 3 months!" I guess his shoes were old enough they slipped on like a pair of slippers. I never noticed. I don't notice a lot of things. I'm just not very observant I guess. Sam also wanted me to carry his supplies to his classroom. I said, "Sam, look at all these kids walking in by themselves. You can do it." He said, "oh. Ok" and he did. I guess I'm just gonna have to push him and stop babying him. Max on the other hand is starting high school. When I asked him to stop for a second and let me take his picture with his brother, he was put out. He made me wait for the bus to go by and all the cars then he wouldn't look at me. And he thought I was an idiot for making him take a piece of paper and a writing utensil. He was all like "they don't supply that?" and I was all like "you are in high school. No, i would imagine they dont." I can tell this is gonna be a battle of the wills for a while. So today I am gonna clean after coffee with Mel. The good thing is with a smaller simpler house, there is not much to do! It should be a great day! Enjoy yours!!
